5 articles review ; writing skills

Hello everyone!!! At this time I will discuss writing skills based on 5 other website sources to increase your skills on writing. So Happy reading…             In the first article entitled What is Writing? which was published on https://www.englishclub.com/writing/what.htm by the account manager of Englishclub.com , The author argues that "Writing" is the process of using symbols (letters of the alphabet, punctuation and spaces) to communicate thoughts and ideas in a readable form. And "Writing" can also refer to the work/career of an author, as in: "Shakespeare didn't make much money from writing". In our own language , writing is usually the fourth language skill that we learn . To write clearly it is essential to understand the basic system of a language . A writer may write for personal enjoyment or use, or for an audience of one person or more. The audience may be known or unknown. Blogging publicly is an example ...

Journal Review ; Writing in the university: education, knowledge and reputation By Ken Hyland

In the abstract section in this paper it challenges the broad view that writing is somehow part of a more serious aspect of university life - conducting research and teaching students.  Seeing literacy as embedded in individual disciplinary beliefs and practices, rather than generic skills that students fail to develop in school, helps explain the difficulties students and academics have in controlling the conventions of disciplinary discourse.  In the end, and in an important sense, we are what we write, and we need to understand the unique ways our disciplines deal with colleagues and submit arguments, because through language academics and students conceptualize their subjects and debate their claims persuasively.  In the article that I read in the literature review section, it was inserted or put together with an introduction.  The author draws on some of the research he has done over the past ten years, the author has explored what it means to write in the aca...

Writing skill ; Application of writing methods in writing journal articles

As in my previous article (https://ogcilias.blogspot.com/2020/02/education-about-writing-scientific.html?m=1) I discussed the procedures and importance of writing journal articles at the tertiary level. After sharing and discussing it with my group in class about their article, here I will review it in my own language.  Not much different from my blog, a friend of mine Discusses "Writing Centers in Higher Education as Academic Performance".    In his blog the number of US universities trying to help their students write at the tertiary level and develop writing in all curriculum-based writing centers.    This suggests that the writing center at a business college might improve students' writing abilities at the top of the value distribution if there are students motivated enough to visit the center.    Therefore, writing centers must try to reach all students (not only those who are naturally motivated) and strong incentives to do so must be put ...

Education about writing scientific journals within the kind of articles in pedagogy academics.

This paper challenges the broad view that writing is somehow a part of a more serious aspect of university life - conducting research and teaching students. It argues that universities are ABOUT writing which special types of academic literacy are at the guts of everything we do: important for building knowledge, educating students and negotiating professional academic careers. Seeing literacy as embedded in individual disciplinary beliefs and practices, instead of generic skills that students fail to develop at school, helps explain the difficulties students and academics have in controlling the conventions of disciplinary discourse. In the end, and in a vital sense, we are what we write, and that we have to understand the unique ways our disciplines accommodate colleagues and submit arguments, because through language academics and students conceptualize their subjects and debate their claims persuasively. . The title of this lecture encompasses a somewhat daunting scope but off...

The difference between the education system in Indonesia and the education system prevailing in Finland

Finland is a well-known country and is widely discussed by all those who research education in the fields of culture, economics and sociology. They're a unique phenomenon. Of the top five countries in the OECD PISA list, they are countries with the most innovative education systems. Students first started school in Finland when they were 7 years old and before that they were only allowed to play. Their study time can also be said to be very short, and even more outdoors. There is no denying that the education system in Finland is recognized as the best in the world. In fact, Indonesia was about to follow the system in the Nordic country some time ago. However, the basic principles of education in Indonesia are still very different from those in Finland. Finland has never asked students to do their homework and to apply the test grade criteria. So, what really made Finland's education system a success and a brilliant generation? The first explanation is that children in ...

Grammar learning; learning methods / media used to reduce problems in the learning process.

Many people say that learning English is difficult. But it's not entirely wrong, and it's not entirely correct either. That's right, even though it's hard, we can still understand it. The biggest problem with learning English is learning grammar. Many people think it's very difficult to learn grammar so that they can't learn any more English. Grammar is also often used as a reason why we cannot speak English because of fear of wrongdoing and other reasons.   It can be said that grammar has no place in the eyes of students, especially in the class of young students, that it is too difficult or irrelevant for children to learn. I want to open up the idea of 'grammar' and explore grammar from a student perspective.     By doing so, I hope to convince readers that grammar has a place in children's foreign language learning, and that it can be beneficial for them to teach grammar.     Opening what we mean by ' grammar ' will remind us that ...
