Writing skill ; Application of writing methods in writing journal articles
As in my previous article (https://ogcilias.blogspot.com/2020/02/education-about-writing-scientific.html?m=1) I discussed the procedures and importance of writing journal articles at the tertiary level. After sharing and discussing it with my group in class about their article, here I will review it in my own language.
Not much different from my blog, a friend of mine Discusses "Writing Centers in Higher Education as Academic Performance". In his blog the number of US universities trying to help their students write at the tertiary level and develop writing in all curriculum-based writing centers. This suggests that the writing center at a business college might improve students' writing abilities at the top of the value distribution if there are students motivated enough to visit the center. Therefore, writing centers must try to reach all students (not only those who are naturally motivated) and strong incentives to do so must be put in place to encourage students to visit the education center to help them work on scientific papers or journal articles.
Compared to the two of us, one of my friends discussed "How can literary and creative strategies influence the development of writing skills in fifth grade students in public schools?" (https://anotherolip.blogspot.com/2020/02/how-do-literature-strategies-and.html?m=1).
The author realizes that writing is difficult for some elementary school students, it is very important to improve their writing skills and find the best strategy to increase their interest in producing texts. As a result, after implementing this survey, the data showed that the majority of students enjoyed reading fiction texts, only one showed a low interest in it and many of them disliked nonfiction texts such as biographies or summaries. Their interest is placed mainly on fairy tales. In addition, most students want to develop their writing skills, as an important part of their lives; they stressed the importance of writing to achieve assignments in school, and as a way of growing up in academic and everyday life.
There are several writing techniques in writing journal articles, one of which is discussed in my friend's blog (https://intannovitasari141100.blogspot.com/2020/02/understanding-of-scientific-journal.html?m=1) about "IMPROVING SKILLS STUDENTS USING THE FOUR SQUARE WRITING METHOD "in grade XI high school students. The results of his research indicate that the use of the Four Square Writing method can improve student writing skills and classroom conditions. Basically, that the selection of the right method with the level of education of students is also very needed to succeed in learning about writing.
Another thing that must be considered is to improve language skills including writing skills, using learning media so that students can quickly understand what is being taught. In my other friend's article (http://meryn99.blogspot.com/2020/02/journal-article-definition-and-journal.html?m=1) discusses ICT that is important in learning, and its application by inviting students to create a blog as a learning medium, especially in learning about writing.
Besides using the blog as a learning medium in another blog of my friend (https://faranurfadillasaranghaeyo.blogspot.com/2020/02/exercise-1.html?m=1) discusses "Using Cartoon Animation Media in Punctuation Teaching Writing ". In its discussion globally implies that specially created animated cartoons can facilitate the learning of punctuation and help increase student awareness to reduce problems with correct use of commas and semicolons. This study attempts to add new items to the user-friendly technology agenda at EFL. This is very important, because awareness is an important asset for implementing punctuation rules. The evidence from this research shows that they can be used not only to motivate students to learn, but also to change their views about certain subject matter. Taken together, the results of this study indicate that ACs with follow-up activities can add variations to the instructions and serve as shortcuts to explain the topics of relative difficulty.
In essence, not much different from my previous discussion, my other friend discussed about the differences and understanding of the journal article itself, along with the procedures for writing it. But with the level of teaching in different classes. It is understandable that there are no significant differences regarding writing techniques in journal articles at any level of education. But in my friend's blog (https://sophiekrisyo27.blogspot.com/2020/02/how-to-write-article.html?m=1) it was emphasized that sometimes a conference between writer and editor or instructor would usually result in filling " air hole ". There are no articles that are more annoying than articles that leave unanswered questions that arise in the minds of readers.
